For Tremont 647, 30E design organized an event to gather local farmers, bakers, chefs, and foodies to show off their tattoos for the camera. Local photographer Liz Linder captured the tattoos and 30E design digitally altered and spliced the many tattoos together to create a repetitive toile pattern.

Chefs and others who devote their lives to food bear the marks of their trade. This doesn’t stop at burns and knife-wound scars. Dedicated foodies have long inked their favorite proteins, tools, veggies, and culinary terminology onto their bodies. Now, Boston’s intersection of culinary and tattoo cultures is on display at Tremont 647. Architect Anne Barrett of 30E Design, a Jamaica Plain firm, decided to feature food ink prominently in her recent remodel of the South End restaurant. full story
